The "Jan Maria" set new standards in the construction of fishing vessels. She was designed especially for herring and mackerel fishing in the Atlantic and the North Sea in accordance with the instructions of the operating company.
She has processing and refrigerated facilities on board which make it possible to completely process and store the catch at -28 degrees C within four hours of it being on board. In order to protect the fish when hauling the nets in, the "Jan Maria", unlike conventional stern trawlers, has a special fishing installation at the stern.
The ship is equipped with a side-loading platform to make it possible to unload the ship in a simple and fast manner.
